Nature played a key role when the interior of the Schuh-Mann shoe shop in Stade was redesigned.Theme: Tree-patterned wallpaper and LVT design flooring from objectflor create a natural ambiance within the shop and make customers feel like enjoying the great outdoors.

The renovation has provided the Schuh-Mann store with a more spacious shop floor and created an ambiance in which customers enjoy spending time trying on new shoes. The Hamburg-based interior design firm Nette + Hartmann were commissioned with the redesign and were tasked with the mission of creating a natural, relaxing interior marked by clarity and lightness. Large shop windows provide passers-by with a clear view inside the shop. The two-storey shop, spread over approximately 440 m², stocks a wide range of shoes for the whole family – from practical everyday shoes to luxury pairs for special occasions. Luminosity is achieved in the women's department by three backlit floating ceiling panels on which images of branches and apple blossom represent an attachment to the rural Altes Land.

The recurring use of tree wallpaper and tree-patterned panel curtains is extremely eye-catching, while rustic oak walls emphasise the natural look. A dark grid ceiling adds a masculine touch to the men's department, as does the untreated sawn-wood finish on the oak walls.

Key design feature: floorings by objectflor

Flooring always plays a key role in interior design, but even more so in a shoe shop, where customers' feet are often the focus. For this reason, the designers considered it important to emphasise the lightness and naturalness of the design with a pale wood look. Because the Nette + Hartmann interior designers had used objectflor's LVT design floorings successfully in other retail store projects, they also opted for high-quality state-of-the-art synthetic floorings in the Schuh-Mann shop design project.
