The visitor is led through the club from one large area to another, each with its particular attractions: Corporate architecture features the open and innovative approach at Fitness First in the newly designed club in Frankfurt’s “My Zeil” shopping centre. The concept originates from the Heckhaus design and planning agency, who developed the characteristic architectural approach now adopted by Fitness First – and especially for the “Platinum” club format, as a Premium studio. The new “Freestyle” training concept at Fitness First was a deciding factor at the Frankfurt club in the design of the sports areas. The large space in the centre is the venue for group keep-fit sessions based on everyday movements, without the extensive use of weights or gym equipment.

On your marks, get set, and go - with objectflor floor coverings

The spacious freestyle exercise area is provided with structure by the floor covering: Black, grey, and bright green surfaces identify the different sections of use by typographic elements, such as “Start” or “freestyle training”. The route through the club is marked out by rubber flooring from the ARTIGO Collection KAYAR (K 21), with the characteristic irregularly integrated coconut fibres. This top quality and extremely hard-wearing rubber floor covering is the creation of the design agency Sottsass Associati, and is marketed in Germany exclusively by objectflor. Right from the entry to the training and exercise area, the floor covering sets the active sporty tone, by way of the tartan path featuring white lines set on the grey rubber floor.

A striking contrast to the ARTIGO rubber floor covering is provided by the combination with a high quality and impressively textured wood look (EXPONA DESIGN Dark Limed Oak, Art. No. 6209), which was selected for the area around the counter, as well as for the Lounge and the cardiovascular exercise area. The Design flooring from objectflor has the full effect of natural wood, but also provides the product advantages of modern vinyl flooring. Thanks to the 0.7 mm wear layer, the attractive design can stand up to even the high demands imposed by a top fitness studio, and for a long time to come.
