Haus Ederaue – senior citizens' accommodation in Edertal-Giflitz
'Feel-Good' oasis to stimulate the senses
" We purposefully avoided long corridors on the nursing floors. A graduated colour scheme on the walls helps residents and visitors find their way around the home. The use of colour on the walls allowed designers to choose a calmer shade for the floor. " – Thomas Georg
High standards of furnishing for high standards of nursing
The nursing home for the elderly, Haus Ederaue, has been designed and furnished with respect towards the aged and those in need of care. The interior design includes flooring solutions from objectflor.
Haus Ederaue in Edertal-Giflitz provides accommodation for 66 residents. The home provides residents with an extensive range of facilities, such as a therapy centre, a 'feel-good' oasis to stimulate the senses, and a cozy cafeteria. All bedrooms are single, spacious and feature an en-suite bathroom with natural daylight. These are just a few examples of the first-class facilities in this nursing home for the elderly, which is operated by the Internationales Bildungs- und Sozialwerk e.V. However, architect Thomas Georg from the RJ Planungsbüro – a specialist in the design of healthcare buildings and social housing – explains that many other carefully planned concepts have gone into Haus Ederaue. “We purposefully avoided long corridors on the nursing floors. A graduated colour scheme on the walls helps residents and visitors find their way around the home. The use of colour on the walls allowed designers to choose a calmer shade for the floor.”
EXPONA FLOW helped define the colour scheme
The designers decided on the Infinity design from the EXPONA FLOW collection by objectflor for the cafeteria area. This is design-led continuous flooring that creates a virtually seamless result, with realistic finishes that evoke traditional textiles and woven floorings. Thomas Georg was immediately taken by the floor. “We loved the wooden tones and the different shades of blue in the Firelight design. We designed the rest of the interior around this range of colours.” A classic dark oak effect from the LVT EXPONA DOMESTIC range(product no. 5988) has been used to create a relaxing atmosphere in the light-flooded lounge areas. Designers chose to use the same low-maintenance and durable flooring in another nursing home for the elderly that the International Bildungs- und Sozialwerk e.V. was constructing, this time in Lichtenau, Hesse.
